CORBA Distributed Objects: Using Orbix, Sean Baker, Addison-Wesley, 1997. This book is very good at getting at the depths of CORBA development that other books tend to gloss over.
Client/Server Programming with Java and CORBA, Second Edition, Robert Orfali, Dan Harkey, John Wiley & Sons, 1998. This is one of the ``Martian'' books and is over 800 pages of example code for getting up and running with CORBA and Java.
Java Programming with Corba, Andreas Vogel, Keith Duddy, John Wiley & Sons, 1998. A good introduction to the Java and Corba communication.
Programming with VisiBroker, Doug Pedrick, ed., John Wiley & Sons, 1998. A good introduction to VisiBroker and Java.
Corba Fundamentals and Programming, Jon Siegel, John Wiley & Sons, 1996. The classic introduction to CORBA. Still quite good in covering the basics.
Mico is Corba: A Corba 2.0 Compliant Implementation, Arno Puder, Morgan Kaufman, 1998. This book/CD combo provides the free Mico CORBA ORB, a true blue CORBA implementation that stresses standards adherence over speed.
The Essential Corba: Systems Integration Using Distributed Objects, Thomas Mowbray and Ron Zahavi, John Wiley & Sons, 1995. A very good, complete introduction to distributed programming and CORBA. Aimed more at the manager/architect than the developer in the trenches.
